Home      MicroEconomics      Rabbit Project

The Haiti Rabbit project is a microeconomic endeavor to have the people of Baptiste Haiti raise rabbits for food and by products.  With the help of Makouti, an organization in Haiti experienced in starting rabbit projects, we currently have 40 families raising rabbits. As of April of 2010, the 40 rabbits have had their first litter and the babies are doing well.  Our goal is to have 80 families raising rabbits. The 40 families have been trained on the proper care and feeding of the rabbits.  All of the cage materials have been shipped and assembled in Haiti.  It is the goal of the Holy Family Haiti Committee to have this project become self sustaining and have the people of Haiti enjoy rabbit for many years to come.
